This gorgeous girl is spayed and housetrained but should be supervised indoors, can't be left home alone. She is still a pup and can get into things out of curiosity. Mom has bought her heavy-duty expensive kennels for both indoor and outdoors (for when Mom is away).
Sterling needs a wolfdog-experienced home with escape-proof enclosure [8' with lean ins and dig guard] . . . she can fly over 7' in a heartbeat. She currently gets 1-2 hours
"off leash" every day in the forest
(loves lakes, streams, rocks) or 3-4 miles hiking on leash.
DNA results available.
Mom says "Sterling is a beautiful girl with so much love in her. She is wild and incredibly strong and nimble yet cuddly and affectionate. Although she is only 55 lbs.

Sterling is the strongest "dog" I've ever encountered. She's hilarious, fun, energetic, loving, beautiful and I believe in a couple
of years as she matures she'll be easier
to manage. I've worked with a trainer
so she now stays closer when we go
in the woods, when previously Sterling would run many miles away.
Great with male dogs but same-sex aggressive with most domestic females, Sterling does a bit better with Northern- breed and Wolfdog females. She is submissive with humans. Her Mom has had her since was a 3-month-old pup and loves her so much, but now Sterling pulls
her down if she sees another female.
Sterling has a sweet, very large
100-lb. male companion. They get
along great and have fun together.
The way Mom keeps track of her is she allows Sterling to run in the woods
dragging a long rope so easier to catch.
Sterling is a good girl and checks
in with Mom every now and then.
This absolutely GORGEOUS girl shines in the sunlight as well as moonlight and will make a sterling companion to the right person. She needs a new home as soon as possible!

Mom says "I have a very ill 19-year-old child who needs a lot of daily care. We are beginning to travel frequently for medical purposes and I can't have the dogs with me. I also have two elderly parents in different states that I need to travel to so I can care for them. It has become very stressful
for us all. Sterling is now urgent
and needs a home by the holidays."

Graceful and sleek, Luna is only 1 year old and needs to be spayed for adoption - once she fattens up a bit. Her people left town and abandoned her in a kennel on the front lawn. Luckily a kind Rescue woman, Mia, heard of the incidence and we all kicked into gear to get this girl to safety. She was transported the next day to Stockton where she is being boarded, but that is expensive.
[she was in a kennel 7 days!!].
UPDATE: Luna is being boarded in a foster home now, but we would rather use our funds getting her to a new home.

Luna is quiet and calm. She is surrounded by a pack of 7-8 dogs. Some are tiny, some are small, and some dogs are big -

So let's get this girl into a forever home. We were told Luna was living with a cat [although we usually do not place our rescues with cats or children]. She really loves other dogs so we hope her new home has another canine companion or two. She is a little shy on the leash - does not have recall off leash - so is an escape risk right now if she got loose. She will need a Martingale Collar, some patience and training ... an Adopter that can teach
this young dog some old tricks!
Luna is well behaved indoors, housetrained, has no resource guarding with people or dogs. Luna would do best with 6' fencing with lean ins or 7' fence, but currently
she is in a fenced yard with 6' fencing
and being a good girl.
Luna is also very shy with new men but she will warm up to you once she trusts. I feel this girl will be easy to train. Unfortunately she gets car sick but maybe that's something that can be worked on.
We are looking for an adopter that is home a lot [retired, works at home, etc.] so they can spend time with this sweet pup. Luna wou

where she can play in the snow!

We need to get her out of boarding
so she can have her own home
where she can snuggle and be loved.

Paradise CA - This poor, shy girl was found running around Paradise after the fire for the last 4 years! She has been at the shelter for 8 months now and since they didn't know anything about her, she was not taken out for walks or socialized with other dogs. She has been isolated in a kennell all this time! She had been visiting a home that had two dogs in the yard so a volunteer decided to put her on a leash [inside the kennel] and introduce her to another dog. Lolita seemed very comfortable with the dog around and was more relaxed with the volunteeer. She even allowed him to brush and pet her! He is goingto start taking her out on walks wth a chain leash since at this time she will chew any fabric leash.
Lolita's current quality of life is miserable due to lack of social contact, interaction or exercise, stuck in a cell all day. We are hoping that now that they realize she is a pussycat, she will get out on walks more often, but she really needs a home of her own. She likes to dig in her kennel area, so an adopter might consider dig

We are hoping that now that they realize she is a pussycat, she will get out on walks more often, but she really needs a home of her own. She likes to dig in her kennel area, so an adopter might consider dig guard, as well as 6' fencing for this girl.
Not knowing much about Lolita, she may need to be housetrained and leash trained, but I think a person who has the time and love can bring this gil around to be a great indoor/outdoor companion. We are looking for an Adopter who is around a lot [works at home, retired, etc.] and has experience with German Shepherds [she may have a little Husky in there too].

Gorgeous Combie needs a new home!
He is up to date on all vaccinations
and is ready to go!
This boy loves other dogs and is incredibly socially intelligent. Typically submissive meeting a new dog, he understands proper dog language. He is ok with small dogs but is not around them much and has limited experience. He walks nicely on leash with a gentle leader, but off leash
he wants to go on walkabouts.
Needs some recall training.
Combie has excellent house manners, does not go in kitchen or on the furniture and is not destructive. Poor Combie has to be kept on a 20' tie-out as the owners have no fencing (and tethering a dog can make them distrustful or fearful). He does not like to be outside alone
as he loves company and just wants
to have fun with you.

Combie has had training from a young age
(they have had him since 7 weeks old)
In January a fire started in owner's pantry in the middle of the night. Combie had been locked in his crate throughout the chaos and has suffered PTSD from it. After that he started getting anxious and resisted being crated. He started having panic attacks. His owner can explain more about this if you are interested. Since this traumatic experience Combie is now working with a behaviorist to help him get past this anxiety and is doing really good. He is described by the behaviorist as a confident, persistent optimist! He has his moments of insecurity but they are all helping him learn to trust again. His owner loves him but knows Combie needs a new, calm environment where he can start a new
life with someone experienced and patient.
This boy is a sweetheart.
Combie gets two nice hikes or walks a day and loves to play with his humans. We feel that Combie would adjust better to a home with other confident, calm dog friends and in an environment where he would not have to be crated, as that triggers the emotional trauma. A wolfdog-experienced handler would be best to help this boy progress into a mature and confident dog. This pup just needs a structured and calm environment. If you are interested in adopting Combie, we would love to hear from you. Check out our webpage WANT TO ADOPT
